Brief description about GOLNGAILOMM EDUCATION SOCIETY (GLES).
Golngai Lomm Education Society (GLES) is a conglomeration of youths who deeply felt the need for an over haul in quality education among the Kukis of North East India and Burma. GLES is a non profit organization which is purely based on voluntary social work of selfless and dedicated few. Seeing the ever increasing number of illiterate youth culminated with absolute mass poverty and pathetic standard of living prevailing in the society today, they realized the need to revolutionize the society through education. Thus, with great passion, they come together and name themselves as GLES. It is also concern with the poor people’s inability to access to formal education either due to poverty or geographical hindrances. With strong determination GLES is pledged to serve the society by providing affordable quality education and make every single Kuki village accessible to education and every child lettered.
Beside education, GLES is also keen to create employment opportunities among the youths who are educated and unemployed which is one of the biggest problems the society is facing today. The overall goal of the GLES is to bring in development in the society through education.
As our motto suggests, education should be made the birth right of every child and poverty should not be the barrier to literacy.

The most prestigious Advisory Board is a Conglomeration of talented individuals who are dedicated to spread the spirit of Golngai Lomm and its objectives. Its elite members are true leaders, with passion and dedication to help fellow Lomm members to work and reach higher standards and also towards the betterment of the society through quality education.
Advisory Board is especially selected elite members and true leaders with passion and dedication, who have shown their commitment to continued development in the areas of education and social up-liftment of the society,
The Advisory Board members also play a part in contributing to society by social and charity works on behalf of Golngai Lomm.
governing body:
The Governing Body consist of all Life-members (Founding Members) of Golngai Lomm, The Governing Body shall make all appointments in the Society's Schools and Colleges, shall award punishments, give promotions, direct transfers and retirements, and grant leave and extensions of service; and in all these matters and any other matters relating to discipline and education its powers are absolute. The rates of fees in Schools and Colleges shall be fixed with the sanction of the Governing Body, which shall also have full control over the appropriation of all current funds and over the appropriation of permanent funds. The Governing Body shall provide for the terminal inspection as also for an annual examination of the Society's institutions. At the beginning of each financial year the Board of Life-members shall present to the Governing Body for approval and sanction an account of the expenditure for the year pass in each of the Society's Colleges, Schools and a statement of proposed expenditure for the year to come. The budget as sanctioned by the Governing Body shall be strictly adhered to and no extra expenditure shall be incurred without previous sanction. There must be at least four general meetings of the Society every year. The governing body, in its annual general meeting, shall elect the President, General Secretary, Finance Secretary, Information Secretary, and Auditors for the Council.
The council:
The members of the council are elected by the governing body for the period of two years. The same Members are eligible for re-election and, if during the two years owing to death or resignation, the governing body shall call a meeting to appoint for the vacant post within a period of one Month, only Life-member being eligible for either post. The Council has full access to the records of the Society's institutions individually or collectively for the special purpose of maintaining discipline and controlling education in the Society's institutions.
